NVL preview (11th and 12th January) - Richmond and Inter Crocs bid to boost survival hopes

Matches in the last 16 of the National Cup and Shield means there are only limited games in the NVL this weekend, but there are some important fixtures nonetheless.

In Women’s Division 1, capital rivals Richmond and London Inter Crocs (pictured above) go head to head looking to lift themselves away from the foot of the table.

They currently sit in ninth and eighth place respectively and the two teams know if they can secure victory at the Kingston College Arena, then it will be the perfect start to 2025 in their bid to beat the drop.

In Division 2 East, both Northampton (second) and visitors Richmond 2 (third) are chasing promotion and will bid to make ground on leaders Cambridge.

Both sides have lost only once in the league so far this season ahead of their showdown at Moulton College on Saturday.

Fourth-place Norwich Spikers, meanwhile, host bottom-of-the-table Herts on Sunday seeking to improve their 3-3 record.

York Falcons take on Manchester Marvels Mystics on Sunday at York Sports Centre in Division 3 North.

In the men’s section, Newmarket, in third place, welcome Norwich Spikers, in fourth, with both having the opportunity to move up to second behind leaders Rhinos Volleyball Cambridge if things go their way.

A triangular takes place in Division 3 North Central on Sunday as Darkstar Derbyshire 2 host unbeaten league leaders Nottingham Rockets and Chester at Landau Forte College.
